My Priorities

Responsible growth in Ramsey

Housing: Ramsey has seen growth in housing over the past several years, second only to the City of Blaine in Anoka County. Throughout Ramsey, there is a variety of product for home buyers of all income levels. With more homes, there is a broader tax base but there is also an increase in need for city services. Working on responsible growth in housing will continue to be one of my priorities. Keeping to the mission of urban growth while maintaining Ramsey's rural appeal.

Public Works: As the growth in Ramsey continues, there is an increased on the services provided by city government. Currently, the city is working on plans for a Public Works campus. I am committed to working to meet the needs of today and tomorrow with a balance of wants for responsible growth in Ramsey.

Road Funding

Ramsey roads need repair and no one disagrees. However, finding a way to fund Ramsey roads has been a discussion in Ramsey prior to my taking office. If re-elected, I will work to prioritize long term road funding to properly fund road management. My position is to use the tax levy which provides transparency on what the tax levy is funding vs bonding or use of regressive taxation such as Franchise Fees.

Support our Police and Fire

After being appointed to the Ramsey/Nowthen Joint Powers Agreement (JPA) board in 2018, work began to update the agreement. Over the months of work during 2019, it became necessary to move forward with disillusion of the JPA. Resolution 19-251 began that process. Meeting the needs of firefighters, pension legislation was passed in the 2020 legislative session (Article 14). The JPA board is continuing discussion on moving forward to insure fire department support in Ramsey and Nowthen communities.

Ramsey Police department has done a fantastic job keeping our community safe. With your support for re-election, I will continue to do the work necessary to support our Police and Fire departments who serve the residents of Ramsey.
