Candidate for Ramsey City Council Ward 4

Debra Musgrove is announcing her candidacy for re-election to Ramsey City Council Ward 4. Paperwork was filed on Tuesday, May 19, 2020. Ms Musgrove has served as Ward 4 Council Member from November 2018 to present since winning a special election.

"Serving the residents of Ramsey has been an honor. It has come with learning and gaining a better understanding for the needs and wants of residents as well as government processes. Being a public servant comes with ups and downs, and I would say the greatest reward is getting to know and be an advocate for the residents of Ward 4. "

At the beginning of her term, she was appointed to the Lower Rum River Watershed Management Organization(LRRWMO). Earlier this year LRRWMO board member appointed her to the Watershed Implementation Funding Board. She has also served on the 2019 Happy Day's committee, she continues to serve on the Ramsey Nowthen Fire Joint Powers Agreement board, and recently appointed Council liaison to the Planning Commission.

During her time of service as Council Member, her son, Kolton, has graduated from high school and complete his first year of college at Liberty University. Her daughter, Gentry, made a transfer to Wheaton College, completed her fourth year of collegiate swimming and will graduate in August with a degree in Chemistry. Their family Australian Shepherd continues to love walks and playing ball.

While living in Ramsey she has served as an election judge. She has been elected to the Executive Committee of Senate District 35 GOP as a Vice Chair A side 2013 - 2018 and has chaired the Search and Nominating Committee since 2017. She has been a lead for activities including Anoka County Fair Republican booth and assisted in other outreach activities.
